Once a year, the cooperatively organized community of
Barnhouse farmers meets for the general assembly – this also happened in November. In addition to plenty of space for personal exchange, we always review the past year and look into the near future:
How was the harvest year? What concerns the farmers? What concerns us as processors? And what challenges need to be overcome together? How do we face the effects of climate change, not only in the Krunchy fields?
On such occasions, we always notice how important and insightful these
conversations and discussions are – and how valuable the collective commitment and partnership are.
Only thanks to the close cooperation with our dedicated farmers can we guarantee you the best Barnhouse quality for your breakfast.
A fruitful partnership on equal terms: Almost 90 organic farmers from the Demeter, Naturland, Bioland and Biokreis associations grow oats and spelt for Barnhouse in the region. This is about much more than just regionally produced grain and fair prices for farmers. A fantastic, steadily growing network has emerged, with which we can jointly advance and develop many good things related to organic farming.
Our goal: No grain deserts, but vibrant fields where valuable flowering plants also have space. Fields where it hums and buzzes, crawls and scurries. Cultivation methods that improve soil quality and soil life and promote biodiversity. Seeds from organic breeding, among many other things.
For this, we all work closely together with heart and passion. We challenge each other and can learn a lot from each other.
