A BIOFACH fair without Barnhouse is simply unimaginable. :)
That's why we were once again an exhibitor at the World's Leading Trade Fair for Organic Food this year from February 10-13 – with a very special event: We were able to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our Barnhouse Supplier Community to the day.
Because on February 11, 2016, the first framework agreement with our Barnhouse farmers was signed at our BIOFACH booth – the starting point of a cooperation that is not only based on trust, reliability, and shared values, but is much more than just a supplier relationship.
On the occasion of the anniversary, we held a reception with representatives from politics, press, and industry associations, as well as our farming community. As a highlight, the next framework agreement for the 2027-2029 harvests was signed in a festive atmosphere. We were particularly pleased about a prominent guest: Minister of State Michaela Kaniber took extra time for a visit and accompanied the signing of the contract – together with Barnhouse Managing Director Martin Eras (center), the Supplier Community board member Michael Rittershofer (2nd from right), and supervisory board members Susanne Fischer (2nd from left), Sepp Heindl (left), and Gerhard Schweiger (right).
In a short speech, the Minister of State congratulated on the anniversary and emphasized the importance and impact of the cooperation.

But what exactly is the Barnhouse Supplier Community?
In short: A fruitful partnership on an equal footing.
Almost 90 organic farmers grow oats and spelt for Barnhouse in the region. This is about much more than just regionally produced grain and fair prices. A network has been created with which we jointly try out, advance, and further develop things related to organic farming.
