For many years they have been among the most popular cornflakes in organic shops. No wonder, because the only slightly sweet Barnhouse Cornflakes Original are rolled, not extruded.
Rolling is the traditional process:
Somewhat more expensive, but more gentle – but above all an enormous difference in taste!
The corn grains are cut and boiled up with corn syrup and sea salt. In this procedure the strength is unlocked, i. e. made digestible for us.
However, the starch structure of the corn grain is preserved and our organism degrades the rolled flakes more slowly. That’s why they feed longer. After the cooking process, the cornflakes are gently roasted so that they taste nice and crispy.
