Gerhard Schweiger was one of the first partner farmers of Barnhouse and has built up this project together with us. Together with his wife Christine and their son Simon, he runs the Neulinger Hof in Ampfing. The family converted their farm to organic farming as early as 1997 and is a member of the Demeter and Naturland farming associations.
The farm has been family owned since 1870 and covers 40 hectares of land, half of which is used for farming. In addition to Barnhouse oats, Gerhard also grows spelt, rye, wheat, and buckwheat.
„Organic farming is without alternative for me“
Just like many other organic farmers, Gerhard lives for this profession: „We only work with natural resources and the knowledge to make the best possible contribution to the sustainability of this world drives me on“.
