„I’m trying to save the world and every square meter I manage brings me one step closer“
According to this motto, Barnhouse partner farmer Christoph Stimmer lives and wants to actively protect water/groundwater, soil and air through the ecological management of his farm.
„What drives me as a organic farmer? I think that I simply want to prove that farming also works without chemicals and manure”, explains the Bioland farmer.
Christoph has been with the Bioland Association since 2000 and cultivates potatoes in addition to grain on his 85-hectare farm. In 2019, he tried his first underseed on flax yolks, which according to his own statement, did not work properly until a year later.
Until July 2020, the farmer had a dairy farm as well as arable farming. In addition, the Forsthuber Hof also has a grain warehouse and a grain cleaning facility, where the grain of various Barnhouse partner farmers is stored.
By the way, Christoph runs the farm in the main business and gets support from his brother. Her grandfather bought the farm in 1918. Since then, he has been in the family ownership of the Stimmers.
